I’ve worked with career coaches in the past but the advice they’d give often felt infeasible (“just quit your job!” kind of thing), and I never felt like they unlocked something in me to motivate me to move forward.  I lacked the courage to commit because it felt like they couldn’t meet me where I was at, which was afraid to make a move and put myself out there.  But Jen’s approach changed my own approach.  She’s an active listener and genuinely curious, so our sessions did not feel dialed in or clinical.  Instead, I felt like she gave me the encouraging nudge I needed to move forward, not a laundry list of to-dos that felt out of reach.  In turn, I felt excited to share my progress with her because what she did first was help me see the potential in myself, and it was that warmth and compassion that enabled me to take more steps forward towards my goals.  She saw my future and moved fear out of the way so that I could take action.  I’m grateful to Jen for greeting me with honesty and empathy.
